L'OREAL Eye Shadow Palette Review

L'OREAL Studio Secrets Color Smokes Eye Shadow Palette

Another drug store eyeshadow I picked up for reviewing. This palette is $5.99, to me the packaging is a little cheap, it doesn't catch my attention at all to try. But I decided to give it a try because people asked me about it. First of all, I pick up #336 Forest Smokes because I have been reviewing lots of brown colors, I wanted to try green and I think it's a very nice looking green palette. I really like "olive green" eyeshadow because my skin is more cool-yellow tone. This palette also has number on each color telling you where which color goes on your lids, but you don't always have to follow the direction, you can create the way you like.

1. Line: Applying along lash line, upper and lower rim.

2. Base: Apply to middle of lid and blend up to crease.

3. Highlight: Blend below brow to highlight.

4. Brighten: Apply lightly to inner corner of eyes.

Another way to apply:

Use 3 for entire lid up to crease, then use 2 for crease, and 1 for contour. Use 3 or 4 for highlight and 4 for brighten.

For the texture, it's not that east to grab the pigment but once you have a good among it goes on smoothly. I use large eyeshadow brush for applying 2 on the lid and highlight. Then using MAC #224 to blend them well. Then I use MAC#219 pencil brush to apply 1 and 4.

For lower inner rim, I use MAC Feline Kohl Power Eye Pencil black and for lashes I use Maberlline XXL Pro Curl and Volume mascaras.

This is taken right after the application.

This is taken after 6.5 hours.

In conclusion, this is a very good, affordable eyeshadow palette. The texture is good ( you need a dense brush for enough among of pigment if you plan to have smokey eyes, or use the applicator it give you to create natural look). The pigment shows naturally and easily to be blended. It doesn't crease or fade away after half day. So I will recommend you to try it. :)
