Get Pro Result for MAC Studio Fluid SPF15 and Learn It's Routine

$26.50

The reason I love this products it because it's nearly full coverage, none oily, and long wearing. It's a matt finish and buildable coverage. To me, by wearing this product, I don't even need concealer. Contains specially treated micronized pigments and soft-focus powders for a super-smooth look that helps minimize the appearance of imperfections. Absorbs and disperses oil. Contains special skin-conditioning ingredients. Oil free. But how to use this product correctly without getting heavy looking and caking result, here is my tricks:

1. Moisturizer: A good moisturizer can help you keep makeup on all day and not caking, but it's important to choose a right moisturizer that suits your skin condition. Not everybody need oil-free or anti-aging moisturizer. So get to know your skin's needs first. I love MAC Studio Fix Moisturizer SPF15, The no-grease, super-hydrating formula of Studio Moisture Fix with superlative protection from sun and environmental aggressions. Starts with broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection of SPF 15 that goes on sheer. Mega-moisturizing, rich, lightweight and fast-absorbing. Keeps skin plump and soft. Excellent prep for makeup. Releases moisture and emollients onto the skin continually/all day. Enhanced with mineral-enriched spring water, it’s an instant spritz of moisture with the benefits of protection.

2. Primer: It's it important to use primer because it not only helps you keep makeup last longer, it also helps you to smooth and correct your skin. By smoothing skin you will need less foundation and that will help not caking. By correcting your skin, some of the primer has pigment that help skin pigmentation. I use MAC Pre+Prime Skin because it maintain my skin not to get oily. An ultra-fluid lotion formulated with special-effect silicones. Calms and soothes the skin, blots away excess oil, and evens out skin redness. Improves the laydown and application of foundation or powder.

Or I would use MAC Prep+ Prime Face Protecter SPF 50 if I am going to the beach or I know I will be under the Sun for a while.

3. Applicators: Get to know your skin texture first and then get to know what result you are looking for! Not everybody should use the same application. Here are some of the good applicators you can choose based on your skin needs:

Choose a plate: No matter what kind of application you are going for, always use a metal or plastic plate (container) for your liquid foundation. Because if you pull out foundation on your skin, you skin will absorb the product (wasting $) and your skin might contain bacteria. Also if you are using Fibre Brush to create air brush result, you will have to use a plate.

Sponge: Lots of people choose to use sponge but don't use it correctly. By using sponge, you can get a full coverage and even result. First, you only need one pump of foundation on the plate, soak the product a little bit on the sponge (not the whole foundation!) and start to PAD ON your skin. Keep padding on until the product is evenly applied on your skin. Swipe with sponge when there's too much on the skin. Never swipe before pad the product. I like Make Up For Ever sponge because they create HD result and you can wash it with soap and keep using it. Remember, once you use one side of the sponge, you will HAVE to not to use that side next time!

MAC 187 Duo Fibre Brush: A large full circular brush used for lightweight application and blending of face powder or pigments. Use to create soft layers or add textures. Made from a soft blend of goat and synthetic fibres.

You can also find this kind of brush from other brands. What it does is it create air-brush result. But the coverage is natural and exfoliating which is not good for winkle skin. To use this brush, pump two pumps of foundation on the plate, hold the brush and use circulation motion absorb the foundation until the foundation is totally gone. Then quickly apply all over the face by circulation motion, until the lines of the products are all gone.

MAC 130 Short Duo Fibre Brush: This brush is a lot more dense than MAC 187 Duo Fibre Brush, it creates fuller coverage by doing the same way. But it doesn't have to absorb the whole foundation at once, you will have to work couple times to finish it but it covers better.

A Flat Foundation Brush: This is the traditional way and most people don't like it because they think it creates lines when apply. The best way is to pump one pump of foundation on the plate and touch a little product with the brush and start PADDING on your skin little area at a time. Start with your center of the face and under eye area, then toward to the check and neck. If you still get lines after, use sponge to pad on those areas (do not swipe it).

Or you can use a buffer brush with circulation motion all over you face to even the foundation after using flat brush. After that you can build your concealer because the buffer might even out the concealer if you apply it too early.

4. Concealer: I recommend using concealer (expect for eyes) after foundation because usually during applying foundation you might wipe the concealer away. When you think you still need concealer on certain area, choose a light weight and long lasting concealer, nothing to sticky. Put it on the plate and use a eyeshadow blending brush to quickly swipe on the area you want to cover, this kind of brush will help you create light weight and full coverage.

I love Diorskin Nude concealer because it's light weight and you only need a tiny bean and cover all the spots. And I use MAC 222 blending brush to apply the product.

5. Set your makeup: It's important to use power to set your foundation so it won't run or fade. It's better to use setting powder (press or loss) than using another compact foundation because it's too much foundation and your makeup will start caking. Choose a medium to large face powder brush to apply the product, and make sure not to put too much, just easily swipe it.

Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder $30 (It's completely translucent and goes on any skintone. Its talc-free formula does not dry the skin and is formulated with 100% silica. Dermatologically tested )

MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Natural $ 27 (A luxurious domed face powder with minerals, slowly baked to provide a dimensional yet natural-matte finish. Provides perfect low coverage. Use to set and fix foundation or as a touch-up throughout the day)

MAC 129 Powder Blush Brush, use this brush or others to apply setting powder.

6. Final Setting: Use a setting spray can help you keep the makeup last longer and hydrated. During the day if your makeup runs again, use oil-block sheet first, set the setting powder and spray the setting spray. You should be good to go.

MAC FIX+ Spray $19 (An aqua-spritz of vitamin and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the fresh, natural, energizing scent of Sugi. Adds radiance, finishes makeup. Spray it on. Skin drinks it up!)
